Addressing Gaps in Workers’ Compensation Coverage
Sutton Reinsurance provides specialized Industrial Aid coverage for Aircraft and Group Land Transportation risks—designed to support businesses whose employees travel via company-owned or leased aircraft or land-based vehicles.
These exposures are frequently excluded from an insurer’s Workers’ Compensation treaty or the original Workers’ Compensation policy, creating a potentially significant coverage gap.
Sutton’s reinsurance indemnifies the insurer for statutory accident and health benefits paid following incidents occurring during employee travel—whether by air or land.
Industrial Aid Aircraft and Group Land Transportation reinsurance can cover a wide range of exposures, including:
Executive travel on corporate aircraft
Air ambulances & cargo transport
Firefighting & aerial photography
Sports team travel
Land-based transportation of oil rig, agricultural, or remote site workers
How It’s Structured
This reinsurance is often structured as excess-of-loss coverage, with the insured retaining a minimum of $100,000 per occurrence, and a Maximum Any One Life (MAOL) limit of $1 or $2 million. Sutton Re can offer up to $30 million of per occurrence limit, written on behalf of various Lloyd’s syndicates.
